Alaskan King Crab Superior Broth Bee Hoon

Best Live Seafood Restaurant in Singapore

When you enter Chin Huat Live Seafood, the first thing that greets you is the sight of life itself. Tanks filled with live Alaskan King Crab, Lobster, Dungeness Crab, and fish move gently in clear waters. Every movement reminds you that what you are about to experience is the living heart of Singapore’s seafood heritage.

For many of our guests, dining at Chin Huat is a return to something familiar. The anticipation of choosing your seafood from the tank. The joy of knowing that what you see is what you will taste–alive, fresh, and prepared in the exact style your family loves.

The Chin Huat Experience

At our Sunset Way restaurant, families gather around Alaskan King Crab simmered in a superior broth that highlights the crab’s delicate and ocean-fresh flavour. Its aroma fills the air as the bee hoon soaks up every bit of the rich and savoury essence. Our live Australian Southern Rock Lobster is gently lifted from the tank, prepared only after the customer has chosen it. The Dungeness Crab arrives at the table coated in our signature sauces, whether black pepper or golden cream; each dish cooked only after the crab is selected live from the tank. Why Live Seafood Matters

Live seafood reflects a commitment to freshness, integrity, and genuine connection. When the catch is kept alive until the moment it is prepared, its inherent flavour is preserved, the flesh remains firm, and the broth develops a deep and authentic essence. Every bite delivers an unmistakable ocean-fresh flavour. Check out our extensive ocean-fresh live seafood menu today!

Live Seafood Restaurant Singapore

At Chin Huat, we have stayed committed to serving live seafood since the very beginning. Over the years, diners who value freshness and authenticity have continued to support us, and we are grateful for that trust. Remaining true to our roots continues to shape the way we serve our food today.

A Journey Back in Time

Long before live seafood became popular in Singapore, there was only a dream. In 1982, our founder, Mr. Low Chin Huat, believed that seafood should be enjoyed at the peak of its freshness. He introduced the concept of keeping seafood alive in tanks until it was time to cook. It was a bold idea at that time.

His live lobsters were so large and unforgettable that they earned a place in the hearts of many Singaporeans. His famous saying “Lobsters bigger than a little girl” became a symbol of abundance and joy.

From those early days, live seafood gradually became part of Singapore’s dining culture. Chin Huat remains the place where it all began and where the spirit lives on.

Holding On to Tradition

More than forty years later, our live seafood restaurant remains tucked within Sunset Way, surrounded by generations of customers who return with their families. Many who dined with us as children now bring their own children to experience what they once enjoyed. Our live Alaskan King Crab, Australian Southern Rock Lobster, and Dungeness Crab are still selected directly from the tank. Every dish is prepared only when the seafood is chosen. This is our way of preserving authenticity.
